Isolatedsublingualhematomaisararecomplicationseenintrauma,severeuncontrolledhypertension,dentaloperations,bleedingdiathesis,andtheuseofdualantiplateletandanticoagulantagents.Inadvancedandneglectedcases,asublingualhematomamayinterferewiththepatient’sairway,causingsuffocationandfatalairwayobstruction.Ourobjectivewastopresentacaseofiatrogenicisolatedsublingualhematomaina70-year-oldbusinessman,heavysmokerwithahistoryofhypertension.Furthermore,toreporttheliteraturereview,andtoorganizetreatmentstrategiestoreducetherateofprogressionofthehematoma.Inadditiontorecommendoradviceastrategicplantopreventthiscomplicationduringcarotidstenting.
