Life-Saving Vascular Intervention Following Zone II Neck Trauma

Patient Profile:
A 35-year-old male presented with a stab wound to the right side of the neck, anatomically located in Zone II.

Initial Assessment:
Upon arrival, the patient was in hypovolemic shock and was immediately transferred to the operating theatre. Resuscitation measures were initiated without delay.

Operative Findings and Management:
Internal Jugular Vein: Complete transection was identified. The vein was ligated successfully.
Internal Carotid Artery: A partial tear involving approximately 70% of the vessel circumference was discovered. An end-to-end anastomosis was performed to restore vascular continuity.

Postoperative Outcome:
The patient regained full consciousness postoperatively. Neurological evaluation revealed no deficits or symptoms due to the procedure, indicating preserved cerebral perfusion and function.
